Bosnia & Herzegovina

The cooking of Bosnia and Herzegovina blends Ottoman and Central European heritage. Its emblems are ćevapi in somun bread, coiled filo pies, slow-cooked one-pot stews and vegetables stuffed with meat and rice. Dairy – kajmak and yoghurt – is everywhere, as are syrupy sweets, and every visit ends with coffee served from a copper džezva.
