Cuisine
Namibia
Namibian cooking combines the traditions of the Ovambo, Herero and other peoples with an Afrikaner and German heritage that lives on in bakeries, sausages and cakes. In the north the staple is oshifima, a porridge of mahangu pearl millet, while meat plays a huge role everywhere: biltong, game, the braai and the street-grilled kapana of Windhoek’s markets.
