Cuisine
Bhutan
Bhutanese food is among the hottest in the world: chillies are treated not as a spice but as a vegetable, and cheese goes into many dishes. Red rice from high mountain terraces is the staple, served with stews of pork, beef or dried meat, mushrooms and vegetables. Butter tea called suja is the everyday drink, and meals are generous and shared.
