Cuisine
Austria
Austrian cooking grew up at the tables of the multinational Habsburg monarchy, so alongside Alpine cheese and dumplings it carries Hungarian, Czech and Italian influences. Vienna is famous for its coffee houses, schnitzel, goulash and countless desserts, while in the mountains people eat hearty dishes of flour, eggs, cheese and butter.
