Cuisine
United States
American cooking is a patchwork of traditions brought by wave after wave of immigrants, woven together with New World staples such as corn, turkey, squash and beans. Every region has its own character, from New England seafood and the Creole and Cajun kitchens of Louisiana to Texas barbecue and Tex-Mex. What ties them together is generous portions, the backyard grill and family holidays at the table, Thanksgiving above all.
