Hong Kong SAR China
Hong Kong food grows out of Cantonese tradition, but over more than 150 years of British rule and as a great port it absorbed influences from all over the world. It is famous for dim sum eaten over tea (yum cha), siu mei roast meats hanging in shop windows, wonton noodle soup and seafood. Also typical are cha chaan teng – inexpensive cafés serving milk tea with toast, noodles and Western-style dishes.
