Cuisine
Guyana
Guyana, the only English-speaking country in South America, cooks much like the Caribbean: rice, plantain, coconut and fiery wiri wiri peppers meet Indian, African, Chinese, Portuguese and Indigenous influences. Everyday meals mean curry with roti and dal, while holidays call for pepperpot, a stew simmered in cassava-based cassareep.
