Grenada
Grenada, known as the Spice Isle, is famous for nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and cacao, which find their way into its cooking. The staples are breadfruit, dasheen, bananas, plantains, fish and coconut milk, and nutmeg often turns up in sauces and desserts. The national dish is oil down, cooked in one pot for family gatherings, while callaloo soup, roti and nutmeg ice cream are popular too.
