Cuisine
Cape Verde
Cape Verdean cooking combines African and Portuguese traditions. On the dry islands the main crops are maize and beans, while the ocean provides tuna, wahoo and other fish. The national dish, cachupa, is slowly stewed from maize, beans, vegetables and meat or fish, and the leftovers are fried up the next day for breakfast with an egg.
