Cuisine
Canada
Canadian food draws on Indigenous traditions, the French settlers of Quebec and immigrants from the British Isles, as well as more recent arrivals from all over the world. Maple syrup, game, Pacific salmon and Atlantic seafood all play a big part. Long winters favour hearty, warming dishes, and in early spring families head out to maple sugar shacks (cabanes à sucre).
