Cuisine
Norway
Norwegian cooking is shaped by long winters and a long coastline: dried and salted cod, salmon, herring, lamb from mountain pastures, potatoes and cabbage. Old preserving methods such as drying, salting, smoking and fermenting still give it its character, and sweetish brown cheese, brunost, is a breakfast fixture.
