Cuisine
Malta
Maltese cooking is a Mediterranean blend of Sicilian, Arab and British influences built on tomatoes, capers, olives, fish and rabbit. Its hallmarks are simple, filling bakes – pastizzi, ftira, ħobż biż-żejt – along with slow-cooked one-pot stews. Many dishes are made for Sunday family lunches and village festas.
