Cuisine
Iraq
Iraqi cooking grew up in Mesopotamia, between the Tigris and the Euphrates: rice, wheat, dates, lamb and freshwater fish are its foundations. It shares a great deal with the cuisines of the Levant, Turkey and Iran, and meals come with flatbreads and samoon rolls. Strong, sweet tea with cardamom is drunk from small glasses throughout the day.
