Cuisine
Comoros
Comorian food blends Swahili and Arab traditions with Malagasy and French influences. Rice, cassava, plantains, breadfruit and coconut are the staples, while the ocean supplies fish and seafood. Dishes are seasoned with cloves, cardamom and vanilla, for which the islands are known, and spiced pilaou rice is made for big celebrations, especially weddings.
